Housing Minister unveils plans for new middle-income housing project

Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities, Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny, reviewed preliminary plans on Thursday for a new residential project aimed at middle-income citizens.

The initiative follows directives from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to expand housing projects that balance high-quality construction with social accessibility. During a meeting with officials from the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA), El-Sherbiny discussed the architectural designs, unit sizes, and proposed locations for the development.

"This project is part of the state's policy to provide adequate housing and a dignified life for citizens across various income brackets," El-Sherbiny said. He added that the development would adhere to modern standards of sustainability and integrated urban growth.

The ministry has proposed several new cities for the project's initial phase, including: Greater Cairo & Delta: New Obour, New October, New 10th of Ramadan, 10th of Ramadan, and Sadat City; Alexandria: New Borg El Arab; and Upper Egypt: New Minya and New Sohag.

The meeting showcased architectural models featuring contemporary designs and flexible unit spaces intended to meet the needs of Egyptian families.
