"Star Alliance Continues to Provide an Exceptional Travel Experience for Customers in the Scandinavian Countries

Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) plans to exit the Star Alliance on August 31, 2024. In response, member airlines of the alliance, including EgyptAir, express their gratitude to Scandinavian Airlines and its employees for their contribution to the outstanding customer experience that the alliance is renowned for worldwide.

During this transitional period, our customers’ experience remains a top priority. Star Alliance, along with its member airlines and Scandinavian Airlines, aims to ensure a smooth transition for customers, especially concerning previously booked flights. Frequent flyer program members are advised to directly consult their respective airline programs for any inquiries related to earning and redeeming miles within the Star Alliance network.

Currently, 17 member airlines of the alliance continue to operate direct flights to and from Scandinavian countries. These airlines collectively operate over 3,700 monthly flights to Scandinavian destinations from 23 centers around the world, providing customers access to more than 1,100 international destinations. This represents the largest number of destinations offered by any airline alliance."
