During the event, the Minister also virtually inspected 19 similar markets launched simultaneously across various Giza districts via video conference.
Located at the first gate of Hadayek El Ahram, the market
features 40 stalls and mobile sales units. It involves 22 public sector
companies and eight private firms offering household staples, including meat,
eggs, oil, sugar, and rice, at prices significantly lower than market rates.
Farouk stated that the expansion of periodic one-day markets
is a key strategy to stabilize prices and ease the financial burden on citizens
through direct cooperation between the state and the private sector.
Governor El Naggar noted that sites are strategically
selected in high-density areas to ensure maximum accessibility.
The initiative follows government directives to increase the supply of basic commodities and ensure their continuous availability across all governorates.
