Farouk opens fourth “Carry On” branch at EMPC in Giza

Dr. Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, today inaugurated the fourth branch of the Ministry’s outlets under the unified brand “Carry On” at the Egyptian Media Production City (EMPC) in Giza Governorate.

The ceremony was attended by Engineer Adel El-Naggar, Governor of Giza; Abdel Fattah El-Gebaly, Chairman of EMPC; Major General Walid Abu El-Magd, Deputy Minister of Supply; Ayman Ismail, Chairman of the Holding Company for Food Industries; Dr. Alaa Nagi, Managing Director and CEO of the Holding Company for Food Industries; Ahmed Kamal, Assistant Minister and Official Spokesperson; and Sarah El-Azzazi, Head of the Central Administration for the Minister’s Office.

The new branch covers approximately 300 square meters. It is part of the Ministry’s plan to modernize its consumer outlets and provide citizens with a comprehensive shopping experience focused on quality, product variety, and ease of service.

Dr. Farouk said the opening is part of the nationwide rollout of the “Carry On” model. This follows the main branch at Girls’ College in Cairo and the branches in El Amiriya and Sayeda Zeinab, which specialize in meat and fish. He noted that the move reflects the rapid implementation of the project and the Ministry’s commitment to expanding modernized outlets to meet citizens’ needs across governorates.

The Minister explained that the “Carry On” project goes beyond upgrading outlet appearances. It also enhances digital infrastructure through partnerships with leading telecom and technology companies. The improvements enable electronic payments, digital transformation, and customer loyalty systems. They aim to provide a more convenient and efficient shopping experience and support the state’s financial inclusion efforts.

Farouk highlighted that “Carry On” outlets offer all types of food and consumer goods, including meat, poultry, fish, vegetables, fruits, and cleaning products. A large portion of these products is supplied by 22 subsidiaries of the Holding Company for Food Industries. This ensures high-quality goods at competitive prices while maintaining the social role of the Ministry’s outlets.

The Minister stressed that the project represents an advanced model for modern supply outlets. It aims to boost public confidence and achieve a qualitative shift in the presentation of goods and service delivery.

El-Naggar said the EMPC branch opening is part of the state’s plan to expand modern consumer outlets. He noted that the expansion provides essential goods of high quality at competitive prices and eases the financial burden on Egyptian families.

He added that Giza Governorate fully supports the Ministry’s efforts. The authorities are facilitating procedures and providing the necessary support to expand modern supply outlets in densely populated areas. Continuous monitoring will ensure adherence to product quality and announced prices. El-Naggar emphasized that these projects contribute to food security and market stability.
