Kouchouk: Government committed to opening new export markets for Egyptian products

Ahmed Kouchouk, Minister of Finance, conducted a field tour at the Food Africa exhibition. He expressed his strong satisfaction with the distinguished examples of successful investment projects in the agricultural crops and food industries sectors.

He stated that he is keen to learn from the outstanding Egyptian experiences of partners in production and export sectors. He explained that the shift of several importers into manufacturers, producers, and exporters reflects the ability of the private sector to evolve and drive economic growth. He emphasized that Egypt is giving significant attention to developing the industrial sector and opening new export markets for Egyptian products.

He noted that the ministry is ready for extended dialogue with its partners in the business community and for swift action to stimulate production and exports. He added that Egypt is eager to cooperate with young entrepreneurs and support them in all possible ways so they can grow, expand, and export abroad. He explained that Egypt has strong initiatives to support production and export sectors and remains open to ideas that enhance the competitiveness of the national economy.

The exhibitors at Food Africa expressed their sincere appreciation for Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk. The companies affirmed their ability to compete, expand, and grow, and highlighted their expectation for further government support and encouragement.

Dalia Kabeel, Chief Executive Officer of Konzept, highlighted the important role of exhibitions in promoting the development and advancement of Egyptian products including food industries and agricultural crops. She explained that the visit of the Minister of Finance represents a message of government support and encouragement for manufacturers, producers, and exporters.

She noted that the shift of several importers into producers, manufacturers, and exporters reflects the competitive capabilities of the Egyptian economy in production and export activities.

Tamer Safwat, General Manager of Konzept, stated that Egypt is regaining its leading position on the global exhibitions map. He affirmed that agricultural crops including citrus fruits, vegetables, and fruits along with food industries enjoy strong competitiveness across international markets. He added that Egypt has achieved notable progress in packaging which was previously a major challenge.

It is worth noting that the Food Africa exhibition is one of the largest specialized exhibitions in food industries and agricultural crops. It includes more than one thousand two hundred Egyptian and foreign companies including international companies operating in the Egyptian market that produce a wide range of food products exported to foreign markets.
