Daikin explores investment in SCZone

Egypt's Ambassador to Japan, Ragui El-Etreby, met with officials from Daiken Corporation, a prominent Japanese company specializing in building materials and interior furnishings, along with the Egyptian Commercial Office, to discuss cooperation and investment opportunities in Egypt.

The Ambassador highlighted the positive developments in the Egyptian economy and the fiscal, monetary, and structural reforms implemented in recent years. These reforms have enhanced the investment climate and increased the inflow of foreign capital, particularly given the large-scale construction of new cities and infrastructure projects, including 20 new smart cities.

El-Etreby stressed that the Egyptian market represents a key opportunity for Japanese firms, allowing them to capitalize on local demand in the construction sector or to use Egypt as a production and export hub to regional and international markets. This is supported by Egypt's extensive network of free trade agreements and its position as an industrial and logistical center.

Daiken executives expressed their interest in studying expansion opportunities in Egypt. Their focus is on the developments in the construction sector, the growing demand for eco-friendly materials, and the investment incentives available in free zones and the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone).

The Embassy agreed to provide Daiken with full support during the study and evaluation phase, reinforcing efforts to attract more Japanese investments to the Egyptian market.
