Kouchouk strengthens ACI dialogue with trade stakeholders

Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk announced that the mandatory implementation of the Advance Cargo Information (ACI) system for air freight will begin on January 1st.

The Minister stressed the government’s commitment to ongoing dialogue with importers, customs brokers, and air freight agents to foster a "partnership of trust" with the business community. He stated that the goal is to streamline trade movement and reduce the costs associated with importing and exporting.

Kouchouk directed officials to ensure swift responses to all inquiries regarding the air cargo ACI system. He also mandated increased media outreach to simplify the mechanisms and benefits of the new system, emphasizing the importance of providing continuous technical support to users throughout both the pilot and mandatory phases at all air ports.

Ahmed Amawi, Head of the Customs Authority, confirmed that regular meetings are being held with business organizations to explain the air cargo ACI system. He noted that comprehensive guidebooks are available to clarify all aspects of this advanced system, thereby facilitating operations for importers.
