Egypt, Saudi Arabia sign MoU to exchange road expertise

As part of the distinguished and historic Egyptian-Saudi relations, Lieutenant General Engineer Kamel El-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, and Engineer Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, Minister of Transport and Logistics Services for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today for cooperation in the field of exchanging expertise in roads.

The MoU was signed between the Egyptian Ministry of Transport, represented by the National Institute of Transport (NIT), and the Saudi Ministry of Transport and Logistics Services, represented by the Saudi General Roads Authority.

The signing took place on the sidelines of the sixth session of the Smart Transport, Logistics, and Industry Exhibition and Conference (TransMEA), held under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

El-Wazir emphasized that "maximizing Egyptian-Saudi relations and opening new arteries for them in light of the challenges surrounding our region is success itself," attributing this to the clear vision of the political leaderships in both countries, which adheres to the principle: "Egypt and Saudi Arabia... always together."

The Minister stressed that this partnership reflects the commitment of both nations to enhancing the transport system, exchanging expertise, and developing human resources and scientific research in road sectors. He added that it provides a strong opportunity for mutual development in scientific research, training, and honing the technical skills of specialists.
