The opening ceremony was attended by numerous ministers,
including transport and industry ministers from Arab, African and European
countries, as well as ambassadors and leaders of major international and local
companies in the transport and industry sectors.
This year, the exhibition hosts 500 international companies
from 30 countries, reflecting its broad global participation.
Following the inauguration, Madbouly highlighted that the
annual exhibition, held under the patronage of President El-Sisi, comes at a
pivotal moment. Egypt is experiencing an unprecedented renaissance in local
manufacturing and transport infrastructure. He emphasized that the industrial
sector is among the key sectors driving growth, alongside other important
sectors. Together, these sectors enhance economic indicators and attract
substantial investments.
The Prime Minister added, “Industry has become a central
driver for growth, deepening local manufacturing, achieving self-sufficiency,
and boosting the competitiveness of Egyptian exports. At the same time, the
transportation system including sustainable green transport, railways, roads,
bridges, seaports, land and dry ports, logistics zones and river transport acts
as a vital artery supporting this renaissance and facilitating trade and
investment.”
Al-Wazir stated that this edition of the exhibition aligns
with the President’s directives and the government’s commitment, through the
Ministries of Transport and Industry, to support and develop transport
infrastructure and services. He stressed the focus on strengthening local
manufacturing to meet domestic needs, reduce imports, expand exports, generate
foreign currency and support national income.
He added that, thanks to the success of previous editions
under the President’s patronage, the exhibition has become a global platform
connecting ministries, authorities and leading local and international
companies. The event provides opportunities to exchange views and showcase
rapid technological developments across multiple industries. In this context,
the Ministry of Transport is collaborating with major international companies
to invest in railway transport manufacturing, aiming to save foreign currency,
transfer expertise to Egyptian workers and export the surplus.
