Madbouly began the meeting by expressing his appreciation
and pleasure in meeting the chairman and members of the Qatari Businessmen
Association. He emphasized the depth of Egyptian-Qatari relations and Egypt’s
aspiration to support and strengthen cooperation with Qatar across various
fields.
He highlighted the recent improvements in Egypt’s economic
conditions, noting the positive outcomes achieved through the implementation of
several measures under the economic reform program. He also pointed to efforts
to enhance the investment climate, the stability of the foreign exchange
market, and the ease of transferring profits for foreign companies during the
current period.
The Prime Minister noted that, according to government
projections, the inflation rate is expected to fall to around 8% next year,
down from approximately 12% currently. He emphasized the efforts of the
Ministry of Investment and International Cooperation to improve the investment
environment and address any challenges facing investors, aiming to encourage increased
investment inflows.
Madbouly invited Qatari Businessmen Association members and
investors to expand their investments in Egypt, stressing his readiness to meet
any investor to discuss proposals and opportunities across various sectors. He
affirmed Egypt’s commitment to ensuring that Qatari investors have a successful
experience and noted that an investment deal between the two countries is
expected to be announced soon. This aligns with the directives of the political
leadership in both countries to implement a package of joint investment
projects.
Members of the Qatari Businessmen Association opened their
remarks by congratulating Egypt’s leadership, government, and people on the
inauguration of the Grand Egyptian Museum, which amazed the world with its
treasures. They described the celebration as a source of pride for all Arabs.
They reaffirmed the strong and distinguished relations
between the two countries and expressed their aspiration to support bilateral
cooperation in all areas, noting ongoing communication between the association
and the Egyptian Embassy in Doha.
During the meeting, background information about the Qatari
Businessmen Association and key indicators of the Qatari economy were
presented. Discussions also covered members’ inquiries regarding the facilities
and incentives offered to foreign and Arab investors.
Madbouly outlined Egypt’s efforts to achieve comprehensive
development and highlighted several presidential initiatives in this regard,
including the “Housing for All Egyptians” initiative.
