Preparations are focusing on three main areas: the opening
ceremony, organizational arrangements, and exhibition readiness. The museum
team is putting the final touches on artifacts, arranging and cleaning them
across all exhibition halls. Maintenance work is also ongoing to ensure the
infrastructure, facilities, and technical services are fully ready for
visitors.
Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Sherif Fathy has been
conducting regular inspection tours to monitor progress. His visits cover
exhibition halls and all organizational arrangements. He praised the efforts of
the Ministry and museum teams, thanking them for their dedication and hard
work.
The Minister stressed the importance of completing all final
preparations on time and maintaining the highest standards of quality and
precision. He highlighted the need to attend to even the smallest details to
ensure the opening reflects Egypt’s cultural greatness and the efforts of its
people.
Accompanying the Minister during these tours were Dr. Ahmed
Ghoneim, CEO of the Grand Egyptian Museum Authority; Rana Gohar, Advisor to the
Minister for Communication and External Relations and General Supervisor of
International Relations and Agreements; and Dr. Issa Zidan, Director General of
Restoration and Transportation of Antiquities.
