Agriculture: Fertilizers secured at cooperatives, distributed via farmer's card

Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation announced Tuesday that agricultural fertilizers are readily available across all villages, with smooth distribution to farmers via the Smart Farmer Card system.

The ministry confirmed in a statement that cooperative associations, including those for Credit, Reform, and Reclaimed Lands, as well as the Egyptian Company for Agricultural and Rural Development at the Agricultural Bank, hold sufficient stock. This ensures there is no current crisis in fertilizer distribution, despite the temporary shutdown of some factories.

Fertilizer allocations are being disbursed to farmers based on actual agricultural surveys and planted crops, the ministry added. It highlighted that over 300,000 tons were distributed in the past two months, coinciding with the start of the summer season. An additional 250,000 tons are currently held as a strategic reserve.

The ministry explained that fertilizers are distributed in installments to meet the needs of all farmers, preventing the single-use of the entire allocated quantity.

Furthermore, the ministry emphasized the ongoing efforts of regular follow-up committees. These committees visit agricultural associations and distribution points to ensure fertilizers reach beneficiaries without hindrance and to verify the efficient implementation of the Smart Farmer Card system. The ministry urged farmers to report any issues they encounter for prompt resolution.
