Ambassador Mohamed El-Shenawy, Presidential Spokesman, said
that President El-Sisi reviewed the ongoing preparations for the grand
celebration marking the opening of the Grand Egyptian Museum, scheduled for
November 1. Fathy presented the coordination efforts among the ministries and
relevant authorities, including logistical arrangements, proposed segments, and
organizational preparations.
El-Shenawy said that President El-Sisi stressed the
importance of continued cooperation among all relevant bodies to ensure a
ceremony that reflects Egypt’s distinguished status and leadership in the
fields of museums and global culture. He added that the event should also
contribute to promoting tourism and enhancing Egypt’s international image.
El-Sisi emphasized that the celebration should highlight not
only the grandeur of this global landmark but also the scale of progress and
development achieved across the country. He noted that the event must reflect
Egypt’s cultural and historical stature before the world.
The meeting also reviewed the progress of development
projects around the museum as part of the ongoing preparations for the opening.
El-Shenawy said that the discussions also covered several
issues related to the work of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities. He added
that President El-Sisi was briefed on the latest updates regarding plans to
develop the tourism sector.
