Farouk forms central operations room to monitor new petroleum prices

Dr. Sherif Farouk, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade, announced new petroleum product prices today, Friday. He ordered the formation of a central operations room at the ministry’s headquarters. Subsidiary operations rooms have also been established in all Supply and Internal Trade directorates nationwide. The move aims to monitor implementation on the ground and maintain market stability.

The minister emphasized the importance of an active presence by all regulatory agencies at fuel stations and butane gas depots. He stressed the need for accurate inventories of available petroleum products. Regular availability must be ensured, and any obstacles that could disrupt services to citizens must be removed.

Dr. Farouk noted that the ministry monitors in real time how stations and depots adhere to the set prices. He confirmed that strict legal measures will be taken against any violations or monopolistic practices. These steps aim to maintain market stability and ensure the normal supply of petroleum products to citizens.

The minister highlighted the need for continued coordination with the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources and all relevant authorities. This ensures smooth circulation of petroleum products and monitoring around the clock.

Dr. Farouk concluded by affirming that no manipulation or attempts to create crises in the fuel market will be tolerated. Supply inspection teams are present in the field throughout the day. They act decisively and swiftly against any violations to protect citizens’ rights and maintain market stability.
