Foreign Minister: Egypt remains reliable partner for US investors

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Expatriates, Dr. Badr Abdelatty, met with leaders from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York to discuss strengthening economic ties.

The meeting highlighted the long-standing economic partnership between Egypt and the United States, which Abdelatty described as a fundamental pillar of the strategic relationship.

The Minister underscored Egypt's commitment to boosting economic, trade, and investment cooperation. He referenced the Egyptian-American Economic Forum, which was co-hosted by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the U.S.-Egypt Business Council in Cairo in May 2025. Abdelatty called the forum, which drew a large American business delegation, a significant turning point in public-private sector cooperation and expressed Egypt’s hope to host a second round in early 2026.

Abdelatty also outlined Egypt's competitive advantages for American investors, noting that its strategic location and extensive network of free trade agreements make it an ideal hub for accessing African, Middle Eastern, and European markets.

He emphasized that the next phase of cooperation will focus on expanding business ties in promising sectors such as manufacturing, logistics, energy, digital infrastructure, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, and tourism. These sectors, he added, have the potential to attract new investments, boost exports, and create jobs.

Abdelatty affirmed Egypt's commitment to remaining a reliable partner for American investors and urged U.S. companies to expand their investments, localize supply chains, and build competitive production platforms in Egypt to serve regional markets.
