Garg, leading US companies visit Egyptian ports

The U.S. Embassy in Cairo announced on Tuesday that Herro Mustafa Garg, the U.S. Ambassador to Egypt, led an American delegation on visits to the ports of Alexandria, Damietta, Port Said, and Ain Sokhna to explore business opportunities.

The embassy noted that the ambassador was accompanied by representatives from several major U.S. companies, including Alvarez & Marsal Holdings, Aviva, Bechtel, Cisco, Hill International, OSI Rapiscan, and TMEIC.

According to the embassy, the visit focused on how U.S. innovation and technology can support port development, enhance trade, create new job opportunities, and open new horizons for both Egyptians and Americans.

The embassy added that the delegation’s visits reflect the depth of the growing economic partnership between Egypt and the United States. More than 1,800 U.S. companies operate in Egypt, with bilateral trade reaching $12.4 billion in 2024.

Ambassador Garg expressed her gratitude to the Egyptian Ministry of Transport and Lt Gen. Kamel Al-Wazir, Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport, for their support in ensuring the success of the visit.
