During a recent meeting, Prime Minister Dr.Moustafa Madbouly reviewed the country's housing sector, focusing on the new National Strategy for Sustainable Green Urban Development and the financial status of the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA). The meeting took place at the government's headquarters in the New Administrative Capital and was attended by Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Engineer Sherif El-Sherbiny and other senior officials.

During the session, El-Sherbiny presented the features of the green urban development strategy, which aims to make sustainable green building the dominant characteristic of urban development in Egypt by 2030. The strategy focuses on efficient use of resources and energy, including: Energy and water conservation, integrated solid waste management, urban transport, building materials efficiency, and green investment.

Key actions for 2025 include implementing the first package of building incentives, launching awareness programs, and establishing a green urban development e-platform.

In a separate discussion, Cabinet Spokesman Mohamed El-Homossany stated that the meeting also addressed NUCA's financial position, including projected and actual revenues for the current fiscal year (2025-2026) and expenditures on ongoing projects in new cities like New Alamein and the New Administrative Capital.

The meeting also reviewed efforts to expand the offering of residential land plots in new cities to meet growing demand.
