During the forum's main session on "Investment Prospects and Growth Strategies," Gamal El-Din presented SCZONE's strategic vision. He highlighted its role as a national project and an integrated platform for investment, manufacturing, and logistics, thanks to its prime location on both banks of the Suez Canal, which makes it a key hub for global trade.
Gamal El-Din noted that SCZONE has seen a significant surge
in investments in recent years. Over the past 38 months, 311 industrial,
logistical, and service projects have been contracted across its industrial
zones and ports, with total investments reaching $10.2 billion. He explained
that since its establishment in 2015, the authority has implemented a phased
plan, beginning with infrastructure development, followed by creating an
attractive investment climate, and now focusing on localizing key industries
and maximizing local value. SCZONE has successfully attracted investments from
over 20 countries, bringing in capital, expertise, and modern technologies,
which reflects global confidence in its capabilities.
Gamal El-Din affirmed that SCZONE has become a global
industrial and logistics center, supported by six seaports and four major
industrial zones operating at full capacity. He said the authority is targeting
21 diverse industrial and service sectors, including pharmaceuticals,
automotive, railway feeder industries, textiles, and new and renewable energy.
He added that the SCZONE offers a variety of incentives and facilities to
investors, such as customs and tax exemptions, access to a trained workforce,
and digital services through a one-stop-shop system to ensure a competitive and
sustainable business environment.
