Egypt, Spain to hold major business forum in Cairo this month.

Investment and Foreign Trade Minister, Engineer Hassan Al-Khatib met with Spanish Ambassador Álvaro Iránzo in Cairo on Tuesday to discuss strengthening economic partnerships and boosting mutual investment between the two countries.

The talks, part of Egypt's efforts to enhance its international relations, focused on increasing investment and trade flows in the coming phase and reviewed several other topics of mutual interest.

Al-Khatib emphasized Egypt's commitment to deepening cooperation with Spain across various sectors to serve shared interests and support sustainable development plans. He highlighted the deep historical relations between Cairo and Madrid and stressed the Egyptian government's dedication to providing an attractive investment climate for Spanish companies.

The Spanish ambassador, for his part, expressed his country's appreciation for the ongoing cooperation with Egypt, praising the serious steps taken by the Egyptian government to elevate bilateral ties.

Both sides also finalized arrangements for the upcoming Egyptian-Spanish Business Forum, scheduled to be held in Cairo later this month. The forum is expected to see broad participation from major Egyptian and Spanish companies.

The meeting follows a positive official visit by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to Spain in February, which saw the two countries elevate their relationship to a strategic partnership. The visit also included the signing of several memoranda of understanding in the fields of industry, trade, energy, and tourism.

The two officials concluded the meeting by reaffirming the importance of continued coordination to expand economic and investment cooperation, thereby strengthening Egyptian-Spanish relations for the benefit of both nations.
