Al-Wazir is attending the ceremony, which will be attended by numerous heads of state, governments, and delegations, as a sign of the strong ties between Cairo and Beijing. The two countries elevated their relationship to a "comprehensive strategic partnership" in 2014 and signed an executive program for the partnership for 2024-2028 in January. This agreement serves as a roadmap for further developing bilateral relations.
Al-Wazir emphasized that China is a key strategic partner for Egypt, expressing his desire to strengthen relations across all sectors, particularly in the economy, as China is Egypt's top trading partner. He also hopes to encourage more Chinese companies to invest in Egypt. During his visit, Al-Wazir is scheduled to meet with representatives of major Chinese companies to discuss current and future cooperation.
