Terminal 4 to boost Cairo Airport Capacity to 60 M passengers per Year

Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly held a meeting today to follow up on the implementation of the Terminal 4 project at Cairo International Airport. The meeting was attended by Minister of Civil Aviation Dr. Sameh El-Hefny, Major General Khaled Abdullah, Head of the Armed Forces Financial Affairs Authority, and Major General Walid Aref, Head of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority.

At the start of the meeting, Madbouly stressed the strategic importance of Terminal 4, noting its role in transforming Cairo International Airport, the gateway to Egypt, and showcasing the country’s ongoing development and modernization efforts. He also emphasized the need to enlist top international consulting firms with expertise in designing such large-scale projects.

Dr. El-Hefny presented details of the new terminal, describing it as a flagship project that will significantly enhance airport services and infrastructure. Once completed, it will boost the airport’s total capacity to 60 million passengers annually. The terminal will feature state-of-the-art systems and technologies in air navigation, ground operations, building management, and infrastructure, incorporating the latest innovations to create a fully smart environment.

He noted that the project’s financial and technical studies have been finalized, and the new terminal alone is expected to accommodate up to 30 million passengers annually.

The minister added that Terminal 4 is set to become a global model for airport design and operations, utilizing smart technologies to provide world-class services and an exceptional travel experience.
