Egypt dismisses Grand Egyptian Museum opening date reports

Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities has denied recent reports circulating on some electronic media and social media platforms that November 4 has been set as the official opening date for the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM).

In a statement, the ministry clarified that no official date for the museum's inauguration has been set yet, and any information to the contrary is incorrect. The Ministry stressed that the official opening date will be announced through official channels when the time is right.

The Ministry urged media outlets to verify the accuracy of published information and to refer to official sources before circulating any news related to the highly anticipated event, which has garnered widespread local and international attention.

The Grand Egyptian Museum was originally scheduled to open officially on July 3. However, this date was postponed to the last quarter of the current year due to current regional developments and a desire to ensure the event is presented in a manner befitting the grandeur of Egyptian civilization and its unique heritage.
