PM announces June 26, July 3 official holidays

Egypt has announced two upcoming public holidays, including one for the Islamic New Year and another commemorating the June 30 Revolution anniversary, according to a decree issued by Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly.

Thursday, June 26, 2025, will be observed as a paid public holiday for the Islamic New Year. This date will be in lieu of the actual first day of Muharram, 1447 AH, which is determined by the official moon sighting.

Additionally, Thursday, July 3, 2025, has been declared a paid public holiday to mark the June 30 Revolution anniversary, replacing the actual date of Monday, June 30, 2025.

Both holidays apply to employees across ministries, government departments, public bodies, local administration units, and public and public business sector companies. Examinations will proceed as scheduled on both dates.
