Madbouly: Jirian City key to major urban development in promising area

Dr. Moustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister directed all government agencies and concerned authorities in all governorates to take the necessary measures during the Eid al-Adha holiday period, and to be fully prepared to avoid any crises that may arise, and to work on the regular availability of various services for citizens, according to a cabinet meeting held on Wednesday at the New Administrative Capital.

Madbouly expressed appreciation for the role of the Armed Forces and police, as well as all relevant officials, in continuing to work during the holidays to maintain discipline and ensure a happy holiday for the nation's citizens. He also stressed the importance of continuing vigilance during the Eid holiday to counter any attempts to encroach on agricultural land and to deal decisively with such attempts in the bud, in coordination with governors and various relevant authorities.

He also highlighted the important messages contained in President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's speech during his participation-via video conference-in the high-level meeting in preparation for the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development, scheduled to be held in Spain at the end of June 2025. He specifically emphasized Egypt's aspiration to achieve progress in reforming the global debt structure and developing practical and tangible steps to contain the problem of growing sovereign debt in developing countries. This can be achieved by creating mechanisms for sustainable debt management in low- and middle-income countries, home to approximately two-thirds of the world's poor. He warned that failure to reach tangible outcomes in this regard could lead to the outbreak of a new global debt crisis, devastating the economies of developing countries and exacerbating the already existing development gap.

Madbouly reviewed a number of recent government activities, most notably the signing of partnership contracts for the development and launch of the "Jirian" city located on the Sheikh Zayed Axis, a public-private partnership. He emphasized that this step embodies the President's vision of establishing a partnership between the state, represented by the Future of Egypt for Sustainable Development Authority, and a number of real estate development companies with extensive experience in this field. This partnership aims to implement a distinguished project that will serve as the nucleus for significant urban development in this promising region.

The Prime Minister also noted the inauguration of the new headquarters of the Consumer Protection Agency, noting that he inspected the headquarters' components and learned about the roles of its various departments, as well as the mechanisms for receiving citizens' complaints and dealing with them professionally and quickly, to overcome problems and protect their rights. He expressed his hope that this modern headquarters will represent an important step toward strengthening the effective role of this oversight body in fulfilling its mandate, and a milestone in the digitization of the services it provides to citizens.
