Gold prices in Egypt hits new record levels

The price of a kilogram of gold in Egypt today reached approximately EGP 5.2 million during trading on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, excluding manufacturing costs, taxes, and stamp duty. This comes amidst a state of volatility prevailing in global gold prices due to movements in the international market.

This price is the highest this week, driven by a slight increase in global gold prices.

Gold prices today, Tuesday, in Egypt:

24-karat gold: EGP 5,200 /gram

21-karat gold: EGP 4,545 /gram

18-karat gold: EGP 3,895 /gram

Gold pound: EGP 36,360

This rise comes after a tough week during which the precious metal lost approximately 3.6% of its value, affected by improved risk appetite following the trade agreement between Washington and Beijing.
