In an interview on MBC Masr with Amr Adib, Hisham Talaat stated that the ongoing collaboration between his Group and the Egyptian government aims to reposition Egypt globally in real estate export, tourism, entertainment, and services, with the goal of attracting 50-70 million tourists annually, up from the current 15 million.
Elaborating on their strategy, he stated that SouthMed was conceived to compete directly with premier northern Mediterranean locales, including Monaco, Saint-Tropez, Mykonos, Spain, and its islands – regions that have historically drawn the most exclusive yachts and hotels globally, exemplified by Porto Cervo.
