The project is being implemented in a central location in the heart of historic Cairo, which was previously used as a landfill. It is considered one of the largest parks of its kind in the Middle East, as the project includes a number of activities that rely on reviving Egyptian heritage across the various Pharaonic, Coptic, Islamic and modern eras, in addition to a group of cultural and commercial activities, hotel services and open-air theatres, in addition to an area for ancient antiquities and excavations, and a heritage gardens area. It is also surrounded by a large plateau that provides a unique visual connection with the Giza Pyramids, the Salah El Din Citadel and the minarets of Cairo.
