Madbouly discusses involving private sector in operating agricultural schools

Moustafa Madbouly, Prime Minister pointed out that the state gives great importance to technical education as one of the most important components of Egyptian economic development. The government also seeks to expand partnerships with the private sector to benefit from its expertise in operating technical schools, as it is a key partner in various activities and sectors of the Egyptian economy. This contributes to the advancement of this type of education in Egypt.

This came in the presence of Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of Education and Technical Education, Alaa Farouk, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Ali El-Sisi, Assistant Minister of Finance for General Budget Affairs, and Ahmed Sayed, Head of the Human Development Budgets Sector at the Ministry of Finance.

Mohamed Abdel Latif stressed that the Ministry seeks to cooperate with the Ministry of Agriculture and various partners to advance technical education. The Ministry is also keen to leverage diverse expertise to achieve its desired goals of graduating students whose abilities match the various specializations. This is achieved by building bridges of partnership and cooperation with the private sector, with the aim of raising their efficiency and capabilities in the field of agricultural development, linking agricultural education to the actual needs of the labor market, and developing new professions and specializations that serve the agricultural sector.

He reviewed the Ministry’s efforts to support agricultural technical schools, within the group of applied schools that the Ministry is working to develop in cooperation with the private sector. He noted that partnerships with the private sector and the business sector benefit the employer through training students scientifically, technically, and practically, during the years of study, so that they become trained workers according to its standards and requirements.

Alaa Farouk pointed out that the agricultural renaissance that Egypt is currently witnessing during the era of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi requires agricultural technical workers trained in modern agricultural techniques, agricultural innovation and irrigation methods, as well as activities related to livestock, poultry and fish wealth, improving breeds, organic agriculture, etc. He highlighted that graduates of these schools can be used in those specializations, in addition to agricultural manufacturing, and other fields.

He stressed that the Ministry's support for the proposal to cooperate with the private sector in developing and establishing agricultural technical schools. He noted that there is a comprehensive vision for cooperation with the private sector in this field, and that the private sector is interested in cooperating with the government. Therefore, it is necessary to develop a clear vision and framework for this partnership to ensure its successful implementation and move forward.
