Minister of Education Mohamed Abdel Latif and Microsoft Egypt General Manager Mirna Aref launched a joint initiative today, Tuesday, to enhance community AI and technology capabilities through an innovation hub. The initiative aims to prepare future experts and improve education quality, building on their long-standing partnership.

Mirna Aref, General Manager of Microsoft Egypt, underscored the company's longstanding 20-year strategic alliance with the Ministry of Education. She stressed that education is pivotal to national progress and commended Minister Mohamed Abdel Latif's clear vision and actionable plans for educational advancement.

Aref emphasized Microsoft's provision of advanced technological tools, powering productivity services for 23 million students and 1.5 million teachers through the "Unified Account" platform. This platform ensures a unified digital identity across Ministry systems. In addition, Microsoft has developed digital applications that connect 105,000+ Egyptian students abroad to their educational institutions, fostering a cohesive learning experience.

She stated that Microsoft has expanded its partner network to over 50 educational and digital service companies. This collaboration has enhanced the learning and examination experience for approximately 1.8 million students through advanced technology. Furthermore, Microsoft will soon launch a project to equip STEM schools with Surface devices, ensuring a comprehensive learning environment.

Aref emphasized Microsoft's commitment to teacher empowerment, noting that over 2,000 Microsoft-certified innovative educators serve as technology ambassadors across 27 Egyptian governorates, a record achievement in Africa. She also highlighted the role of artificial intelligence in supporting the Ministry through big data analysis, providing insights for decision-making and improved operational efficiency in educational institutions.

Regarding future plans, she stressed Microsoft's future commitment to digital transformation in education, including the launch of innovative initiatives like "Ask Fahim," a virtual study assistant utilizing AI to enhance student academic performance.
