EgyptAir apologizes for flight delays at Cairo Airport

EgyptAir has apologized to its customers for delays affecting several of its flights over the past few days.

EgyptAir stated that the delays were caused by a leak in the branch line supplying Terminals 2 and 3 at Cairo International Airport. The leak was detected through monitoring equipment in the central control room operated by Misr Petroleum Company at the airport’s fuel depot.

The company added that in such situations, the line is temporarily shut down and an alternative emergency plan is activated.

It further noted that the issue was addressed by the relevant authorities at Misr Petroleum Company and Cairo International Airport, with the necessary repair works carried out to restore the branch line to normal operation.

EgyptAir emphasized that flight operations were not completely halted but were partially and significantly affected. The airline described the delays on several flights as exceptional circumstances beyond its control.

The company reiterated its apology for any inconvenience caused by the delays and expressed appreciation for its customers’ understanding of these emergency circumstances.
