The meeting focused on bolstering the strategic partnership established between the two Mediterranean nations last May, according to foreign ministry spokesperson Ambassador Tamim Khallaf.
Abdelatty emphasized the importance of the GREGY electricity
interconnection project, which aims to transmit renewable energy from Egypt to
Europe. He noted the project is vital for enhancing European energy security
and supporting the global shift toward a green economy.
The ministers also discussed further cooperation in the
natural gas sector, a key pillar of their regional energy alliance.
The talks addressed irregular migration, with Cairo calling
for a comprehensive and balanced approach that combines humanitarian concerns
with economic development.
Abdelatty urged the acceleration of a bilateral agreement to
send Egyptian seasonal workers to Greece, an initiative designed to provide
legal pathways for labor while addressing workforce shortages in Greece.
The two officials held political consultations on regional and international developments of mutual concern, reaffirming their commitment to historical ties and increased trade exchange.
