conference of the BRICS Nuclear Energy Platform and meet with Russian nuclear
officials. He will hold meetings with officials from companies involved in
equipment manufacturing, in line with Egypt's goal of localizing industry and
transferring technology, especially for clean energy sectors.
The Minister is scheduled to meet with those overseeing
Egypt's nuclear program to review the project's progress, the transition to the
reactor pressure vessel phase, and the implementation timeline for the El Dabaa
plant.
Essmat will also participate in the forum's official
opening, which will be attended by Russian political leaders, heads of state,
and ministers. He will attend a plenary session with the Director-General of
the International Atomic Energy Agency and other participating energy
ministers. The session will also see the signing of new members to the BRICS
nuclear energy platform.
The visit highlights the ongoing communication and strategic partnership between Egypt and Russia concerning Egypt's peaceful nuclear program, including the training of Egyptian teams for the El Dabaa project and other technical matters related to the plant's operational timeline and the localization of electrical equipment manufacturing.
