"Sparrow West-1" marks the second well to begin production in this phase, following the success of the "Siena DE" well. This is a crucial part of a broader development plan that aims to add up to 130 million cubic feet per day to the company's natural gas output.
Initial tests of the "Sparrow West-1" well have
confirmed its technical estimates, with a targeted production rate of
approximately 40 million cubic feet of gas per day. This new well is expected
to significantly enhance the efficiency of the overall production network and
improve the performance of nearby wells.
With the successful activation of both "Sparrow
West-1" and "Siena DE," Burullus Gas Company has rapidly added 80
million cubic feet per day of gas to its production in less than three weeks.
This demonstrates a strong commitment to swift execution and achieving maximum
production yield.
The company is currently accelerating work on the third well
in the same phase, with plans to bring it online by next September. This
initiative aims to further bolster the local gas supply network, especially
during the peak summer consumption season. It will also help reduce reliance on
imports and diversify supply sources for Egypt's national natural gas grid.
The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting production companies and stimulating investment in the natural gas sector. This includes strengthening partnerships with international energy companies operating in Egypt, which collectively contribute to enhancing operational efficiency, increasing reliance on local resources, and fostering an attractive environment for further investment in this vital sector.
