Alaa Farouk, Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, has mandated immediate action from ministry agencies to assist farmers impacted by recent heavy rains and floods. This directive targets areas like Alexandria and other affected governorates, where farmers and their crops have suffered significant damage. The order comes in response to numerous monitoring reports, complaints, and grievances submitted to the ministry detailing the widespread agricultural losses.

To address the crisis, the Minister emphasized the formation of urgent committees to conduct rapid on-site assessments. He also stressed the need for quick intervention from the Agricultural Mechanization Sector and the Executive Agency for Land Improvement Projects. These bodies will deploy their equipment and machinery to pump out floodwaters. This crucial effort will be carried out in close coordination with the affected governorates and their various local agencies to promptly alleviate the burden on farmers.
