Shimi unveils extensive projects for industrial growth

Minister of Public Business Sector, Engineer Mohamed Shimi, held a comprehensive meeting with the CEOs of the Metallurgical Industries Holding Company's subsidiaries. This was part of the regular follow-up on affiliate companies' projects and performance indicators.

Shimi emphasized the metallurgical industries sector's crucial role as a pillar supporting local industry and the national economy. He highlighted the importance of adhering to project timelines, boosting financial performance and economic returns, and applying best management practices to enhance governance. He also stressed the need to improve product quality and update production lines with the latest technologies.

The Minister highlighted the significance of boosting operational efficiency and expanding the export base, which would increase the market share of national products in both local and international markets. He added that digital transformation and the implementation of modern management systems are top priorities for enhancing productivity. He also affirmed the necessity of continuously developing factory infrastructure in line with technical and technological modernization plans, thereby boosting companies' competitiveness and their ability to meet market needs.

The meeting reviewed the financial and production performance of companies, assessed private sector partnerships, and explored investment attraction for available opportunities. Discussions also covered progress in development projects aimed at increasing production, maximizing added value, and introducing new products across industries like aluminum, copper, steel, mining, automobiles, ferroalloys, glass, pipes, and refractories. This followed the Minister's tour of the Egyptian Copper Company's Tebbin factories, attended by Engineer Tarek El Hadidy, Engineer Mohamed El Saadawy, and other ministry leaders.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Minister underscored the importance of strengthening private sector partnerships and localizing technology. This aligns with national objectives to support local industry, substitute imports, and expand into foreign markets, ultimately boosting foreign exchange resources and achieving sustainable industrial development.
