Cairo hotels experienced significant occupancy, with the Nile Ritz-Carlton (Misr Hotels Company) reaching 96%. The Cleopatra and Cosmopolitan hotels (EGOTH) in downtown Cairo neared 100% occupancy, while the Steigenberger Pyramids (Al-Taamir Tourist Investment Company) achieved 89%. In Damietta, the Steigenberger El Lessan (HTH) in Ras El Bar reached 93%. South Sinai hotels also performed strongly, with the Safir Dahab (Misr Hotels Company) at 100% and the Retaj Dahab (EGOTH) at 94%. In Upper Egypt, the Steigenberger Achti in Luxor (Achtii Company) recorded 92%, and the Port Said hotel (Misr Tourism Company) reached 85%.
Minister of Public Business Sector, Engineer Mohamed Shimi,
expressed his satisfaction with these positive results. He emphasized the
Ministry's strong commitment to developing its tourism assets as crucial
contributors to the national economy. He noted the ongoing comprehensive plan
to modernize hotel infrastructure, expand and upgrade existing hotels, and
revitalize historical properties through new investments and strategic
partnerships. This aims to increase hotel capacity and meet growing demand,
driven by increasing global interest in Egypt as a tourist destination.
Engineer Shimi further stated that enhancing service quality, guest programs, and human resource efficiency is a core element of the development strategy. This will boost competitiveness, increase occupancy rates, and improve visitor satisfaction. He affirmed the Ministry's dedication to strengthening the central role of HTH and its subsidiaries, capitalizing on all promising opportunities to support and elevate the standing of Egyptian tourism on the global stage.
