Egypt's net reserves stand at $49.5 billion

Net international reserves rose to a new record of $49.5 billion in September 2025, an increase of $2.8 billion compared to $46.7 billion recorded in September 2024.

Credit rating agency Fitch said in a September 2025 report that it expects the country's net international reserves to exceed $50 billion by the end of 2025. This rise is projected to further improve the external position and reduce the current account deficit, driven by robust export growth, strong remittances from expatriate workers, a tourism rebound, and recovering Suez Canal revenues.
