The meeting was attended by Mahmoud Abdel Hamid, Executive
Managing Director of the Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS), and Hany
Esmat, CEO of Petronas Egypt.
The discussions reviewed cooperation areas and joint
projects, including solutions to improve energy efficiency, enhance operational
capacity, and maximize the value of existing infrastructure to generate added
value and support emissions reduction.
The Minister praised the role of the Malaysian company in
Egypt and its efforts in natural gas projects, expressing his hope for further
investments in gas exploration given the promising opportunities.
Yusuf stressed his pride in the strategic partnership with
Egypt’s petroleum sector, describing it as a cornerstone of Petronas’
operations in the West Delta Deep Marine fields in the Mediterranean. He
reaffirmed the company’s confidence in Egypt’s investment climate and its
interest in expanding investments.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to
further strengthen cooperation in the natural gas sector and enhance
coordination between their teams to achieve the best economic and operational
outcomes from shared infrastructure and projects.
The Petronas Vice President also invited the Minister to
visit Kuala Lumpur to explore new opportunities for cooperation.
