The meeting was also attended by Manal Awad, Minister of
Local Development, Engineer Hassan El-Khatib, Minister of Investment and
Foreign Trade, along with senior officials and experts. Discussions highlighted
the economic and historical significance of Khedivial Cairo and the active
efforts to preserve and develop the area, reinforcing its status as a cultural
and tourist hub while maintaining its historic character, according to a press
release issued on Tuesday.
Participants agreed on comprehensive strategic plans to
enhance Downtown Cairo’s role as a tourist and cultural destination, attracting
all segments of society. The plans aim to transform the area into a vibrant
center combining residential, commercial, cultural, and tourism activities.
The meeting reflects the coordinated efforts of government
agencies and partners to safeguard heritage and advance the development of
Khedivial Cairo in line with Egypt’s economic and development goals.
