Badawi emphasized that his recent talks with Linda Cook, CEO
of Harbour Energy, clearly demonstrated the company’s strong interest in
intensifying its gas exploration and production activities in Egypt. He
affirmed the Ministry’s commitment to addressing any challenges facing partners
in order to support production growth.
The discussions also reviewed investment opportunities
available through the Egypt Upstream Gateway (EUG), which could attract the
company’s interest in the near future.
Sabry outlined Harbour Energy’s investment plans and
three-year work program, including its targets for additional production from
its operations in Egypt. These include the Disouq natural gas field in the Delta and its
offshore concessions in the West Nile Delta, operated in partnership with the
UK-based energy company BP. He reiterated the company’s commitment to expanding
its investments in Egypt.
