The conference featured 18 German companies specializing in innovative, high-quality technologies, products, and services for the textile machinery sector. They showcased the latest advancements in German industrial technology and innovation.
Representatives from the German Chamber of Industry and
Commerce, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, and the
German Engineering Federation also attended.
Hossam Heiba, CEO of GAFI, stated the conference reflects a
shared belief in the potential of Egyptian industry, especially in the textile
sector, which represents a cornerstone of Egypt's economic history. He
emphasized the goal of developing and rebuilding the industry to meet modern
demands.
Heiba highlighted that the Egyptian government has
prioritized the textile and ready-made garments sector, aiming to make Egypt a
global hub for the industry. He stressed the pivotal role of German companies
and their equipment in this industrial transformation, citing their ability to
provide digital and technological solutions for achieving high standards of
quality, efficiency, and sustainability.
He called on German companies to localize machinery
manufacturing technology in Egypt, leveraging the country's attractive
investment environment. He mentioned key incentives, including the Golden
License, which grants all necessary permits in a single approval, and various
tax and non-tax investment incentives.
Heiba also noted Egypt's appeal as a leading export
platform, connected to more than 1.5 billion consumers through extensive trade
agreements with Africa, Europe, the United States, and other markets. He
underscored Egypt's strong economic foundation, including a skilled workforce
and robust infrastructure.
Kathrin Jennika, representing the Federal Ministry for Economic
Affairs and Energy, said the conference was a crucial step in enhancing the
exchange of expertise between Egypt and Germany in the textile industry. She
added that Egypt has the strong components and promising opportunities for
successful partnerships that can drive joint development and progress in this
vital industry.
