According to the statement, the visit followed directives from Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk to improve customs performance at all of Egypt's sea, land, and air ports, with the goal of reducing clearance times.
Amoui's tour began with a meeting with Major General Wael
El-Samadisy, head of the Nuweiba Port Authority, to discuss ways to boost
trade, improve warehouse management, and ensure discipline in customs
operations.
He also met with staff at Nuweiba Customs, listening to
their suggestions and pledging support to help them overcome professional
challenges.
During his visit to Nuweiba Port, Amoui inspected the
installation of new X-ray scanning devices, along with the "discarded
goods" administration building, the logistics center, and inspection yards
for incoming and outgoing shipments.
He also met with Egyptian and Arab traders and customs
brokers to discuss their challenges and gather suggestions on how to simplify
customs procedures. Amoui stressed the authority's commitment to creating a
better work environment and offering support to its staff.
Amoui concluded his tour at Sharm El Sheikh International Airport, where he listened to staff requests and emphasized the importance of direct communication to improve performance. The visit ended with him honoring Salma Salem, the retiring head of the Central Administration for Sinai Customs, for his distinguished service.
