Cabinet Spokesman Mohamed El-Homsany said the Finance
Minister presented the preliminary details of the new package. The package
comes shortly after the launch of the first.
El-Homsany said the quick preparation reflects the
government’s commitment to improving the tax system. He added that the aim is
to build new relationships among tax stakeholders based on trust and certainty.
The plan also seeks to improve all tax services.
The Finance Minister outlined the package’s main pillars. These
include improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the value-added tax (VAT)
refund system, launching tax support service centers across the governorates,
and approving a package of incentives and benefits for compliant taxpayers. The
package also includes further reforms to meet the needs of the business
community, taxpayers, accountants, and tax experts.
