The event was attended by Ahmed Kouchouk, Minister of
Finance; Adnan Fangari, Minister of Justice; Mohamed Abdel Latif, Minister of
Education and Technical Education; Sherif Fathy, Minister of Tourism; Dr. Sameh
El Hefny, Minister of Civil Aviation; Engineer Walid Gamal El-Din, Chairman of
the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone; and Mark Davis,
Regional Director for the Southern and Eastern Mediterranean at the EBRD.
Al-Mashat emphasized that the launch of the PPP project
preparation mechanism reflects a partnership between the Egyptian government
and the EBRD. She noted that the initiative provides technical and financial
support for implementing partnership projects across various sectors.
She added that the mechanism complements Egypt’s ongoing
efforts to strengthen the role of the private sector as a key partner in
national development. She also praised the EBRD, highlighting that more than
80% of its investments in Egypt are directed to the private sector.
