Haiyan Ximei invests $10m in garment packaging, printing project

Walid Gamal El-Din, Chairman of the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), signed yesterday a contract with China’s Haiyan Ximei to establish a factory for packaging materials, product labels, and printing services for garment and textile manufacturers in the Qantara West Industrial Zone, part of SCZONE.

The planned facility will cover 30,000 square meters with investments of USD 10 million. It is expected to create around 160 direct jobs, with 70 percent of production earmarked for export, in addition to meeting the needs of the textile and garment factories currently under construction in Qantara. The project is considered a major addition to the integrated textile and apparel industrial clusters in the zone.

The contract was signed by Weiguo Wang, Chairman of Haiyan Ximei, in the presence of senior executives from both sides.

On the sidelines of the ceremony, Gamal El-Din said SCZONE is pressing ahead with efforts to localize and deepen industry by attracting complementary sectors such as accessories, packaging, printing, dyeing, and finishing. These integrated clusters for textiles and apparel in Qantara West will help reduce production costs by relying on locally produced raw and intermediate materials and logistics services instead of imports. He stressed that these measures are aligned with Egypt’s National Development Narrative, launched by the government to provide a comprehensive framework for advancing economic reform, supporting structural transformation, and strengthening tradable and export-oriented sectors. He added that SCZONE is also working to boost partnerships with the private sector to attract investment in strategic industries.

He further noted that the growing demand for investment in Qantara West reflects SCZONE’s investor-friendly policies, including integration between seaports and industrial zones that provides full access to global markets, as well as the availability of trained technical labor and competitively priced energy. To date, 40 projects have been contracted in the Qantara West Industrial Zone across various industrial and logistics sectors, primarily textiles, ready-made garments, and related industries. Collectively, these projects occupy 2.47 million square meters with investments totaling about USD 1.053 billion, creating more than 55,860 direct jobs.

Haiyan Ximei is a Chinese company specializing in advanced printing and packaging solutions, particularly for textiles and garments. Its product range includes color cards, boxes, paper bellybands, hangtags, PDQ displays, woven labels, washing labels, stickers, and more. The company also provides technical support services such as design assistance, dieline preparation, and production optimization.
