Egypt, Iran agree to boost trade and tourism

Dr. Badr Abdelatty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration, and Expatriates, met on Tuesday with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi to discuss developing bilateral relations.

The two officials addressed recent developments on the Iranian nuclear file and Egypt's efforts to facilitate cooperation between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Ambassador Tamim Khallaf, the official spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry, stated that the meeting focused on strengthening bilateral ties.

Both ministers praised the recent pace of meetings and communications between the two sides. They affirmed their desire to continue consultations and coordination on bilateral issues of mutual interest and to enhance economic, trade, and tourism cooperation to serve the common interests of both countries.

The discussion also covered regional developments, especially the situation in Gaza. They emphasized the need to stop the Israeli aggression, allow humanitarian aid to enter, and reject the displacement of the Palestinian people from their land.

Furthermore, the ministers discussed the latest on the Iranian nuclear file. Minister Abdelatty stressed the importance of continued efforts to create conditions for a satisfactory and sustainable settlement between Iran and the IAEA. Such a resolution, he said, should consider the interests of all parties and contribute to de-escalation, restoring trust, and creating a supportive environment for regional security and stability.
