El Khatib explained during the launch of the National
Economic Development Narrative that the government has carried out the
necessary actuarial studies. These studies assessed the impact of the tax on
the Universal Health Insurance system, which is a central part of development
efforts and the improvement of services provided to citizens.
He added that the government has already reached the
appropriate solution. The only step remaining is the required legislative
amendment, whether at the constitutional or legal level, pending discussion and
approval in Parliament.
The minister stressed that this measure will create a major
breakthrough. It will ensure clarity and fairness in the implementation of the
tax, which applies to all companies. He underlined that the step reflects the
government’s commitment to balancing support for the health insurance system with
efforts to enhance the investment climate.
