Gold prices stable in Egypt Saturday

Global economic data, US Federal Reserve monetary policy, and movements in oil prices and major currencies continue to shape market sentiment. In Egypt, gold prices stabilized at high levels on Saturday, September 6, 2025, as the local market remains closely tied to global stock market trends.

Gold prices in Egypt today:

24 karat: EGP 5,502.75 per gram

22 karat: EGP 5,044.25 per gram

21 karat: EGP 4,815 per gram

18 karat: EGP 4,127.25 per gram

14 karat: EGP 3,210 per gram

Gold pound: EGP 38,520

Globally, gold extended its strong performance in early European trading on Friday, driven by expectations of a US interest rate cut. Spot prices rose 0.2% to $3,551.57 per ounce, while December futures gained 0.1% to $3,609.12 per ounce. The metal also reached a record high of $3,578.80 per ounce this week, raising prospects of testing the $3,600 mark in the near term.

Experts believe that gold remains a safe haven against inflation and economic uncertainty, particularly amid heightened volatility in energy and currency markets. Locally, prices remain subject to constant intraday fluctuations, moving within an average range of EGP 15–20 up or down, in addition to hallmarking fees, taxes, and manufacturing costs.
