The MoU was signed by Dr. Amir El-Telwany, GAH Executive
Director, and Dr. Karim Ossama Abbas,
Board Member of Orchidia, in the presence of senior officials from both sides,
reflecting their joint commitment to advancing medical competencies and
fostering innovation in Egypt.
El-Sobky emphasized that the cooperation with Orchidia
focuses on establishing a comprehensive system for continuous medical education
in ophthalmology and ophthalmic surgery. The program will include on-the-job
training and the introduction of the latest surgical techniques, supported by
leading professors, consultants, and experts to strengthen medical capacities
and localize expertise nationwide.
He noted that this partnership marks a significant step in
the authority’s strategy to build human capacity and enhance physicians’
scientific and practical skills, thereby improving the quality of healthcare
services and reinforcing standards of excellence within the Universal Health
Insurance system.
Dr. Ossama Abbas, CEO
of Orchidia, praised the cooperation with GAH, reaffirming the company’s
commitment to supporting community awareness programs on eye diseases and
strengthening continuous medical education. He stressed that Orchidia will
dedicate its full expertise and resources to ensure the program’s success.
The two parties agreed to launch the “Step by Step” training
program, which includes theoretical and practical workshops covering major
ophthalmology specialties such as eye emergencies and trauma, corneal diseases,
uveitis, cataract surgery, strabismus, pediatric ophthalmology, and glaucoma.
The program aims to provide doctors with the latest scientific knowledge and
practical skills to improve patient care.
The signing was attended on behalf of GAH by Dr. Mahmoud
El-Deeb, Assistant Executive Director for Health Planning and Mapping and
Director of the Chairman’s Technical Office; Dr. Heba Owaida, Director General
of Research and Development; and Dr. Mohamed Ayoub, Business Partnerships
Supervisor. Representing Orchidia were Dr. Ossama Abbas, CEO; Dr. Shaimaa Sabry, Head of the
Scientific Office; and Dr. Ahmed Saleh, Brand Manager.
This collaboration comes as part of GAH’s ongoing efforts to
advance continuous medical education and strengthen partnerships with leading
companies, contributing to the development of Egypt’s healthcare system and
improving the quality of medical services for citizens.
