The event, held in Beijing, was attended by numerous heads of state, government, and other international delegations.
Al-Wazir attended a massive military parade in Tiananmen
Square, featuring thousands of soldiers and hundreds of advanced Chinese
weapons systems. He also joined other dignitaries for a commemorative photo
with Chinese President Xi Jinping and his wife.
During a reception hosted by Xi for the visiting
delegations, Al-Wazir conveyed a message from President Sisi congratulating
China on the anniversary and wishing its people continued progress and prosperity.
He explained that current geopolitical conditions in the Middle East prevented
President Sisi from attending the ceremony himself.
The Minister underscored President Sisi's directive to strengthen bilateral relations with China in all sectors. He highlighted the "comprehensive strategic partnership" between the two nations, which was established in 2014. El-Wazir noted that this partnership was further solidified by the signing of a five-year executive program for strategic cooperation (2024-2028) in January 2024, which serves as a roadmap to elevate relations. Next year, the two countries will celebrate the 70th anniversary of their diplomatic ties.
